Vcargo wins an ASEAN

Vcargo worldwide President and CEO, Paulo M. Tibig was named Young Entrepreneur Awardee during the 1st ASEAN Business Awards Philippines event on September 9, 2014 at the New World Hotel in Makati City.
Vcargo worldwide made it through the stringent two-month selection process and was named as one of the six top companies who have made significant contributions to strengthen the country’s overall competitiveness in the ASEAN economic community by the Asean Business Advicory Council (ABAC) Philippines.


ABAC recognized Mr. Tibig’s long-standing commitment as a formidable leader of Vcargo wordwide and a staunch advocate of entrepreneurship in the country through his EntrepChamp program which aims to inspire and help future Filipino entrepreneurs.

Completing the circle of winners were International Container Terminal Services (Large Enterprises Category), Pointwest Technologies (Innovation Award), Golden ABC (ASEAN Centricity Category), Fountainhead Technologies Inc. (Best SME), Sandra Sanchez-Montano,VP (CHEERS Corp.)

Mr. Tibig along with the five winners will represent the country in this year’s regional Asean Business Awards, which will be held this November during the ASEAN Business and Investment Summit in Myanmar. The Philippine winners will compete with the national winners of the nine other ASEAN member countries for the honor of being named the Most Admired ASEAN Enterprises.

BALANGA CITY, Bataan—Paulo Tibig, a businessman born here, was named top entrepreneur on Tuesday in the first Asean Business Awards to be held in the country.

He is president of VCargo Worldwide, a logistics company formed in 1999.

A resource speaker sought after for his engaging presentations, Tibig has been cited as one of the Top Ten Entrepreneurs of 2005 by Entrepreneur Philippines; winning mentor in the 2007 Entrepreneur Schools of Asia Teenpreneur Challenge; and finalist in the 2008 Nokia Mobile Entrepreneur Awards.

The ASEAN Business Awards was established by the ASEAN Business Advisory Council whose local counterpart is composed of Philippine Long Distance Telephone Co. Chairman Manual V. Pangilinan, SM Investments Corp. Vice Chairperson Teresita Sy-Coson, and Interior Basic Export Corp. President Jay Yuvallos.

President Benigno Aquino III was the guest speaker of the awarding ceremonies  held at New World Hotel, Makati City.

This year’s winner in the Large Enterprise category is International Container Terminal Services Inc. which received the award for corporate excellence.

Pointwest Technologies won the Innovation Award for its consistent setting of new benchmarks.

Topping the ASEAN Centricity category is Golden ABC, recognized as a model for other local firms aiming to enter into the integrated ASEAN market, while Fountainhead Technologies Inc. won the Best Small and Medium Enterprise Award.

Sandra Sanchez-Montano, vice president for international affairs of Community Health Education Emergency Rescue Services Corp., won the Woman Leader Award.

Tibig and his co-awardees will represent the country in Myanmar this November in ceremonies to include winners of other Asean members.

He is known in the business and entrepreneurship world as mentor and author of the best-selling book, “Strategies of a Champion Entrepreneur”.

Tibig is former president of the Association of the Filipino Franchisers of the Philippines Inc. and past president of the Bataan Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc.

Vcargo Worldwide participated in the recently concluded Ad Summit Pilipinas 2014 slated on May 7-10 in Subic Bay.

Subic being one of the strongest economic zones in the Philippines was the venue for the said summit.

Exhibitors in the expo were a mixture of companies from the business sector, travel and local sector to provide opportunities for visitors and delegates.

 

Ad Summit Pilipinas 2014 is organized by the Association of Accredited Advertising Agencies of the Philippines and is presented by: PLDT Home and Smart Communications, Inc. Vcargo worldwide joins Jollibee on its 800th store opening in Malaybalay Bukidnon to show its support to the country’s number one fast food chain on October 18, 2013.

 

Vcargo worldwide transported all of the store’s equipment, furniture and fixtures which complemented the modern tropical design of the 1,500- square meter store property in the scenic  Malaybalay highway.

 

“We are honored that Jollibee has entrusted us with this milestone project,” says Jollibee key account Manager Leony Eustaquio.

 


Vcargo has been serving Jollibee’s logistical requirements since 2007 and has helped opened several Jollibee stores across the country. Vcargo also transport the chain’s perishable goods to its multiple branches in key cities nationwide.

 

“I believe it’s our pro-active approach in meeting their (Jollibee) requirements and our expertise in handling B2B (business-to business) accounts that made the difference,” she added.


Vcargo Cares continue free pick for Yolanda Relief

Manila – Vcargo Cares, the CSR arm of Vcargo worldwide has forwarded the first of a series of consolidated aid composed of food, water, toiletries and clothing for Yolanda victims in Visayas to partner organizations Red Cross and TV5’s Alagang Kapatid Foundation.

Relief goods came from ka-partners  who responded to Vcargo’s call-out to pick-uprelief goods free of charge.

 

Vcargo employees have also volunteered to pack company-donated relief goods to show their support to the program’s cause.

“Hindi man ako makapagbigay ng pera, naibigay ko naman ang oras ko ”(Even if I can’t give money, I’m still happy that I was able to give my time for this effort), said Customer Service Associate Angelica Castro, who volunteered her Sunday time to be part of the team of Vcargo volunteers last November 17, 2013.

As of posting time, Vcargo Cares Program coordinator Federick Martinez is busy organizing the second wave of turn-over to partner organizations.

 

“For those who want to help, we can still pick-up your donations for free, pick-up of goods is every Saturday,” shares Mr. Martinez.

Federick, who has been with the company for 7 years says that Vcargo’s CSR program has leveled up through the years and it can be seen with its employees involvement.

 

“The numbers of employee-volunteers have significantly increased in the past 2 years, and I think this is a good sign that we are effective as an organization in inculcating the right set of values in its employees,” he stressed.

 

Vcargo would like to acknowledge the following for their donations:  Kath Rana (via facebook), Joan Reyes, Rowie Juan, Dennis Co, Grace Aguilar, Elma Reyes, Romeo Buenaflor, Rosemarie Buenaflor and Randell Tiongson .

 

Aside from the free-pick up of relief goods during calamities, Vcargo cares has annual tree-planting activities, blood donation drive in cooperation with the Philippine Red Cross and gift-giving visits at the Bahay Puso Foundation in Bataan.
